Chrome Extension - common questions
The extension reads publicly visible profile information in the same way a recruiter reads a profile. It does not scrape data in bulk — it captures one profile at a time, initiated by the recruiter. Review LinkedIn's current terms of service and your organisation's legal guidance for your specific use case.
The extension captures whatever contact data is publicly visible on the page — typically name, email if shown, and LinkedIn profile URL. For profiles where email is not publicly visible, Gigin uses its standard outreach tools to initiate contact.
The extension supplements LinkedIn Recruiter, not replaces it. LinkedIn Recruiter gives you access to extended network profiles and InMail credits. The Gigin extension takes profiles you find anywhere — including on LinkedIn — and adds them to your Gigin pipeline with one click, triggering Gia's assessment and outreach workflow.

The extension works on LinkedIn, GitHub, AngelList, company team pages, and any webpage where professional profile information is visible. If a name and professional context are visible, the extension can capture the basics.
