83% of Candidates Responded Positively to an AI Recruiter on First Contact

83% of candidates responded positively to an AI recruiter on first contact.

Only 3% questioned whether they were talking to AI.

Let that sink in for a moment.

The single biggest objection I hear from CHROs and TA leaders about AI hiring is: "Our candidates won't accept it. They'll feel disrespected. It'll hurt our employer brand."

Production data across thousands of candidates, multiple cities, and multiple roles says the opposite.

83% gave an affirmative first response. Nearly half of all candidates asked follow-up questions during the call, treating it as a genuine two-way conversation. Some asked about the first 30 days on the job. Some asked for feedback on their profile. Some asked about next steps and timelines.

These are not the behaviors of people who feel disrespected by talking to AI. These are the behaviors of candidates who are engaged, interested, and taking the process seriously.

The candidate experience fear around AI in hiring is, based on what we've seen in production, a recruiter projection. Not a candidate reality.

The question isn't whether candidates will accept AI in hiring. They already have. The question is whether your TA team is ready to let that happen, or whether you'll keep solving for a problem that the data says doesn't exist.
